Blood tests in Houston, TX: CBC, chemistry, glucose, cholesterol and more. Results in Spanish, with affordable pricing.

At Clínica Hispana Familiar 529 blood samples are drawn with no appointment needed, in Spanish, for general checkups, diabetes, cholesterol or thyroid follow-up, and work or school exams. No insurance is needed and results are explained during the visit.

Which blood tests are available?

  • Complete blood count (CBC): anemia, infections and immune cells
  • Blood chemistry: glucose, kidney and liver function, electrolytes
  • Lipid panel: total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides
  • Hemoglobin A1c for diabetes control over the last 3 months
  • Thyroid tests (TSH and T4)
  • Vitamin B12, vitamin D and iron
  • PSA, testosterone and other hormone tests
  • Pregnancy, HIV and other sexually transmitted infection tests

Do I need to fast?

For glucose, lipid panel and full chemistry, 8 to 12 hours of fasting are recommended; water is fine. CBC, thyroid, A1c and most hormone tests do not require fasting. Do not stop your medications without medical advice.

What is the blood draw like?

  1. 1You check in at the front desk and tell us which test you need or the one your doctor ordered.
  2. 2The sample is drawn from the arm and takes less than 5 minutes.
  3. 3You can eat and go on with your normal activities as soon as it is done.
  4. 4When the results arrive, the medical team explains them in Spanish and, if something is abnormal, tells you the treatment or follow-up.

When are results ready?

Results come back quickly; the exact time depends on the test and you are told at the visit. Ask during your visit when yours will be ready.

How often should I get blood work done?

A healthy adult can get a general panel once a year. With diabetes, A1c is checked every 3 to 6 months. With high cholesterol or high blood pressure, the lipid panel and kidney function are checked at least once a year or as your doctor indicates.

Is there a blood work package?

Yes. The clinic offers a general blood test with vitamins at a fixed price, listed on the promotions page.

How does payment work?

You don't need health insurance. Pricing is self-pay, cash and cards are accepted, and you can ask for the cost of the service by phone or WhatsApp before your visit.
